During Science week, Year 6 coded Micro:Bit devices to make them into environmental meters which measured the temperature, sound level and light level in a specific area. Once they coded them, they took them to different environments around school and recorded their measurements.

We start our new topic – A Child’s War – where we look look into the effects of World War two on children in this country and around the world. We will look at key dates and events of the time.

UKS2 had a visit from the police today to learn about the role of the police and what to do in an emergency. The children were actively involved in the session and everyone enjoyed it. They also learnt a lot about the emergency services and things to look out for when reporting a crime.

Today, Year 6 have been working on ordering and comparing fractions on Learning by Questions (LbQ).

In Year 6, we have received an interesting and mysterious box delivered by an Alchemist from a fantasy world. In the box were some strange materials from an island called Alchemy Island. This treasure box included a riddle for us to solve and a map of Alchemy Island. Hidden away were a set of co-ordinates , we believe may lead to some hidden treasure. We have spent some time plotting the route on the map in the hope that we might eventually find some treasure. Below, you can see us plotting our route.
